Beneficiaries

Upon being covered by the Plan, a seafarer shall nominate in writing through form/s required by the Plan’s Board of Trustees, his/her beneficiary/ies.

A Seafarer may nominate any of the persons listed below in the same specified order:

1. The surviving legitimate spouse, if the seafarer is married;
2. The seafarer’s legitimate children, if the legitimate spouse pre-deceased the seafarer;
3. The surviving parents or parent, in case the seafarer is unmarried.

If at the death of a Seafarer no valid nomination by him/her of a beneficiary/ies the following persons then surviving, in the order stated below:

1. Legitimate spouse;
2. Children;
3. Parents
