Good news for Filipino sailors.The House of Representatives has passed on third and final reading the proposed “Magna Carta for Filipino Seafarers” which seeks to provide wide-ranging benefits, including shipboard training and free legal consultation for sailors.House Bill 6425, a consolidation of three measures got the nod of the Lower Chamber as it seeks “to improve the Filipino seafarers’ working conditions, terms and conditions of employment and their socio-economic well-being.”The House Committees on Overseas Workers Affairs and on Labor and Employment, chaired by TUCP partylist Rep.
